United Way of McLeod County to Partner with 42 Agencies/Programs in 2009

    June 2nd, 2008 | Posted in General

United Way of McLeod County Board President Kathy Silvernale announced today that the regional non-profit will partner with 42 agencies/programs in 2009. The organization had 44 agencies/programs apply for funding in 2009, with a total of $266,890 in requests. The UWMC has a campaign goal this fall to raise $280,000 to impact communities county-wide by empowering partner agencies.

“Upon completion of a thorough application and interview process this spring, we feel confident that the UWMC will again partner with outstanding agencies in 2009,” said Silvernale. “Our partner agencies represent a cross-section of funded programs servicing the entire county in emergency and basic needs, health and human services, child development and community development.”

“On behalf of the entire board I want to say thank you to the over 100 people representing agencies and community volunteers that participated in the allocation hearing process,” said Vice-President Jennifer Grimsley. “Every year we see the professionalism and dedication of the agency staff members that present their programs and the caring and sense of community shown by the county-wide volunteers during the interview process.”

Following are the 42 agencies/programs to be funded by the UWMC in 2009. Donations to help fund agencies supporting residents of McLeod County in 2009 can be sent to the United Way of McLeod County at 218 Main Street South, Suite 124, PO Box 504, Hutchinson, MN 55350.
