Kicking Off 2008 Fall Campaign
August 5th, 2008 | Posted in GeneralUnited Way of McLeod County Board President Kathy Silvernale announced today that the regional non-profit will have an informational exhibit booth at the McLeod County Fair which takes place August 13-17 in Hutchinson. The five-day run of the fair will serve as the kick-off period to the UWMC’s 2008 Fall Campaign.
“With our focus on serving individuals, families and communities in McLeod County, we believe that the fair is a perfect opportunity to inform people of our mission,” said Silvernale. “It’s a good time for folks from throughout the county to stop by our booth and see the agencies and programs we are partnering with and to hear about the services they provide annually to thousands of people in this region.”
Additionally, Silvernale announced that the organization would conduct its 2008 Fall Campaign on a slightly altered timeline from years past. Historically, the UWMC has launched all four segments of its campaign in the first two weeks of September. This fall the residential, small business, public employees and major firm campaigns will be staggered in two-week increments beginning the week of August 18. The 2008 Fall Campaign is slated to run through November 14.
The UWMC supports programs in the areas of: emergency and basic needs, health and human services, child development and community development. The county-wide chapter of the United Way funds programs that support the organization’s mission of impacting the needs of McLeod County by building stronger, healthier communities
