There Must Be A Catch! What Is It?

    DPIL

There is no catch – the only catch is that United Way of McLeod County wants you to read to your child(ren)!!

Here’s some additional frequently asked questions about this program:

    What Are My Responsibilities?

    • Be a resident of the designated McLeod County zipcodes*
    • Submit an official registration form, completely filled out by parent or guardian (form must then be approved and on file with United Way of McLeod County).  You can also apply online by clicking here.
    • Notify United Way of McLeod County any time your address changes.  Books are mailed to the address listed on the official registration form.  If the child’s address changes, you must contact United Way of McLeod County at our address in order to continue receiving books.  THE BOOKS CANNOT BE FORWARDED BY THE POSTAL SERVICE. If you move, please contact us as soon as possible (prior to moving is okay, as long as you let us know when you will be moving) with your new address so that your child(ren) can continue to receive books.
    • Last, but not least, READ TO YOUR CHILD.

    When will I receive books?

8-10 weeks after your registration form has been approved, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue until your child turns five or you move out of the designated school districts.

    How can I help?

Do you know a child born in 2009 and is a McLeod County resident that is not receiving Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library books?  Give their parents/guardians a registration form and encourage them to fill it out and mail it to our office.  Or have them go to the online registration link.

Telling them about this FREE program can make a huge difference in the child’s future and the future of our community.

If you know of a business, organization or individual who would like to donate funds to support this gift to our children, donations can be sent to United Way of McLeod County, 218 Main Street South, Suite 124, PO Box 504, Hutchinson, MN  55350. Please mark ” DPIL ” in the memo line.
